When to Seek Immediate Care

If you experience any of the symptoms listed below, contact your retina specialist immediately or go to the emergency room. These could be signs of a serious complication requiring urgent treatment.

🚨 Vision Changes

  • Sudden decrease in vision
  • Loss of vision (partial or complete)
  • New or significantly increased floaters
  • New flashes of light
  • A shadow or curtain appearing in your vision

🚨 Pain and Discomfort

  • Severe eye pain not relieved by medication
  • Increasing pain after initially improving
  • Significant discomfort or pressure sensation
  • Headache with eye pain

🚨 Signs of Infection

  • Increased redness, swelling, or warmth around the eye
  • Discharge or pus from the eye
  • Yellow or green crusting around the eye
  • Fever along with eye symptoms
  • Increased sensitivity to light

⚠️ Pressure Changes (If Gas Bubble)

  • Nausea or vomiting along with eye pain
  • Halos around lights
  • Severe headache
  • Eye that feels hard to the touch

These may indicate elevated eye pressure, which needs prompt treatment.
